Police in Tubatse outside Burgersfort in the Limpopo province have launched a manhunt for unknown suspects who shot and killed a ward councillor on Monday night.
Police Spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo says the councillors wife was also injured when she was hit multiple times by stray bullets.

Mojapelo says while they were sitting in their car, about to leave, an unknown suspect arrived on foot firing several shots at their vehicle.
Police have now offered a reward of R50 000 for any information that could lead to the arrest and subsequent conviction of the killers.
The motive at this stage is unknown.
