Police in the Northern Cape have found a cache of ammunition buried on a farm in the Keimoes area.
Spokesperson, Sergeant Timothy Sam, said they were acting on a tip-off when they went to the farm near Lutzputs Road this week.
He said members of the K9 unit assisted in the search which led to the discovery of “350 rounds of 9mm ammunition and 200 rounds of LMG calibre ammunition.”
Sam said police were not ruling out the possibility of more ammunition and firearms being hidden in the area and were continuing the search.
He said no arrests were made but police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist the investigation.
Northern Cape police commissioner, Major-General Luntu Ngubelanga thanked the public for providing the tip-off.
