Ambulance hijacked and set alight for two cellphones

Kwazulu Natal Health MEC, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, has strongly condemned the hijacking and burning of an Ambulance at UMgungundlovu District on Monday night.

Dhomo says this is a critical time of the province'e emergency medical services.

Authorities reported that an ambulance dispatched on a maternity call-out was hijacked by two gunmen in Empolweni area.

The gunmen took cellphones from the ambulance crew before setting fire to the vehicle.

No arrests have yet been made.
