Alleged hijackers drive over woman whilst fleeing scene

A female security guard from Pretoria is in a critical condition in hospital after alleged hijackers drove over her outside a shopping centre in Montana.

Spokesperson for Netcare 911 Shawn Herbst says it is alleged that the men tried, unsuccessfully, to hijack a vehicle in the centre's parking lot.

When their attempt failed the men fled the scene in a light motor vehicle.

Herbst says the car struck down the female guard and drove over her.

When paramedics arrived at the scene the woman required advanced life support intervention due to the traumatic injuries she sustained.
