Airbus teams up with South African partner in research project

South Africa is at the forefront of research that could have massive implications for global aviation.
Airbus has teamed up with South Africa's National Aerospace Centre to co-fund research being done by Hydrogen SA Systems and the University of the Western Cape.
The research will test the efficiency of hydrogen fuel cells to power the auxilliary engines of aircraft.
Airbus spokesperson, Linden Birns, says hydrogen is extremely safe as a fuel source.
