ACDP not happy with co-parenting lockdown "solutions"

The issue of co-parenting in South Africa during the 21-day national lockdown has led to a lot of confusion and stress for divorced parents who share custody of their children.

Government urged parents in these situations to respect the Disaster Management Regulations and act the best interest of their children by NOT moving them.

Parents are urged to explore alternative methods such as video or skype calls.

The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) has called the governments’ solution to using Skype during the lockdown as uncaring and detrimental for parents and kids alike.

The ACDP says co-parenting and joint custody arrangements in South Africa were wide-ranging and complex.

Government advised that children should stay with their primary care-giver in this unprecedented time.
