The number of coronavirus infections in the country has risen to 4 220 - an increase of 267 new cases.
According to the Department of Health, four more deaths were reported on Friday, bringing the total to 79.
Two of these were in the Western Cape and the other two in KwaZulu-Natal.
The Western Cape is now the epicentre of the COVID-19 pandemic, with 1,413 positive cases, followed by Gauteng with 1,281 and KZN with 841.
The Eastern Cape is also nearing the 500 mark, as the province’s total number of cases now sits at 480, up from 417 reported on Thursday.
