Two Kruger National Park field rangers who were arrested in connection with rhino poaching have been granted bail R10 000 each, South African National Parks (SANParks) said on Friday.

The 30-year-old Lucky Mkansi and the 32-year-old Nzima Joe Sihlangu were arrested on Tuesday in Crocodile Bridge on suspicion of involvement in rhino poaching.

On Thursday the pair appeared in the Skukuza Magistrate's Court where they were granted bail under strict conditions.

The Rangers will not be allowed to travel without first informing the investigating officer, they will also be under 24-hour house arrest with no access to electronic equipment.

The men are not permitted to have any physical or electronic contact.

SANParks said disciplinary procedures against them were also underway.

A third ranger was also arrested but is yet to appear in court.
