Approximately 200 people have been left injured following a train collision at the Geldenhuys Tran Station in Germiston, Johannesburg on Tuesday morning.
ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, said paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene to find scores of commuters walking around on scene.
"Upon closer inspection, paramedics found that one of the carriages had derailed but had not overturned," he said.
Meiring said the 200 people assessed were found to have sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate however no fatalities were found at the scene.
"Once the patients have been treated, they will be transported to various hospitals in the area for further treatment. The exact details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities are on the scene and will be launching an investigation into the matter," he said.
Meanwhile, the accident comes in the wake of last week's horror train accident in the Free State which left19 people dead and many more injured.
Officials have also revealed that 15 people are still unaccounted for, following Thursday's crash at a crossing between Henneman and Kroonstad.
The train was travelling from PortElizabeth to Johannesburg when the accident happened.
