Gauteng police are on the hunt for 12 men who allegedly accosted two couples, raped one of the women and then forced them to watch their husbands being drowned in a lake at Rhodes Park in Johannesburg.
News24 quotes police spokesperson, Lungelo Dlamini as saying that the two couples were walking in the park on Saturday evening, when they were attacked by a group of 12 men.
He says they tied up the husbands and threw them into the water.
Dlamini could not confirm a report that the husbands were forced to watch both wives being gang raped before being thrown in the lake.
He said divers found the men's bodies at around 11pm.
No arrests have yet been made.
