SUNDAY SITDOWN - ANGIE WEISSWANGE - 17 FEBRUARY 2019

Angie is a well-known South African author, artist and artisan as well as a quilting teacher specialising in surface design of fabrics. She has had a long and varied career in textiles, designing, teaching and the arts, since her degreed qualifications in teaching from UCT, UNISA and NMMU.  Angie has presented crafts on national TV and is equally comfortable at shows and workshops in major cities, as well as in the smallest settlements of the Eastern Cape, where she has trained and developed courses for rural crafters in beading, printing, dyeing, knitting, crochet, stitching and quilting. Her work has encompassed anything from commissioned liturgical arts to casting cement sculptures!
