Charl Leslie

Charl has been a presenter at Algoa FM since 1994. During this time, he has hosted almost every show on the station.

His wealth of experience in the broadcast industry has made him a role model to many other presenters.

Born and bred in the Eastern Cape, Charl has a keen sense and understanding of his audience.

His lifestyle focuses on good food and wine and, of course, music. On Sundays he accompanies listeners down memory lane as he plays a selection of his own favourite oldies and those requested by listeners.

Career highlights include working with renowned chefs, the calibre of the late Keith Floyd and Ross Burden; training and completing the Corporate Triathlon Challenge (beating Charlton Tobias), making the perfect cup of tea with Mark Lautner from Dire Straits, and an interview with Neil Diamond ahead of his Port Elizabeth concert.

Witty, bright, funny, easy-going (but) most particular; Charl personifies our listeners and provides them with a quality experience playing some of their favourite oldies on Sundays between 9 am and 12 pm.

A senior member of the programming team, he is the full-time music compiler at Algoa FM.
