The Competition Appeal Court will release its judgment next week on the review of the Walmart-Massmart merger.
Judge Dennis Davis will hand down judgment in Cape Town next Friday.
During the appeal hearing in October, judge Davis said the court had the option of refusing the appeal, changing the conditions attached to the Competition Tribunal's approval, or agreeing to a review of the proceedings.
Three government departments had appealed against the decision by the Competition Tribunal to allow the 16-billion rand merger between South Africa's Massmart and Wallmart, to go ahead.
