Volkswagen South Africa says it recorded its best monthly result in 2013 with sales of 10 613 units.
In July 2013, 40 274 new passenger cars were sold in South Africa, an increase of 8.5% when compared to June 2013 and up by 6.4% against the July 2012 sales.
VW SA says the market results reflect the on-going positive demand for new vehicles.
General Motors says vehicle sales continue to perform at higher than expected volumes as growth measured on a year to date basis continue to hover around the 7% mark.
Ford observed that Government sales had been softer due to delays.
These are still expected to come on stream from August, which bodes well for potential future growth for the remainder of the year.
