Vodacom to drop data prices by 1 April


Consumers can now breathe a sigh of relief as they are set to pay less on mobile data prices.

The Competition Commission has announced a 34% data price reduction for all Vodacom users.

Three months ago, the Commission released the Data Service Market Inquiry report which found that data prices were higher in South Africa compared to other countries

Providers were given three months to reduce their prices.

Commissioner, Thembinkosi Bonakele says Vodacom has independently reached an agreement with the Commission.

Details regarding an agreement with MTN is not yet available.
