The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber has announced the appointment of Dr Robert Cisek as Vice President to replace MC Botha who recently stepped down following the completion of his term on the Board.
Dr Cisek, who is currently Volkswagen South Africa’s Chairman and Managing Director, has been part of the Board since 2021.
The Chamber says in a statement that in his new capacity, Dr Cisek will provide strategic support to the Chamber leadership team so as to strengthen and enhance the organisation’s advocacy and lobbying initiatives.
He will also continue to serve as a key member of the Chamber’s Think Tank team which is focused on developing strategies which aim to address some of the challenges businesses face in the current challenging operating environment.
Another key appointment is that of Angelo Swartz, the current Managing Director for the Eastern Cape Division at Spar South Africa, who takes over as the Remuneration Committee and Human Resources Lead.
As a new addition to the Board’s composition, Paola Horak has been assigned to provide support to the cluster initiatives which are growing in momentum as businesses seek to collaborate with others to become more self-reliant.
She is the Director at Grindstone property Management and Development and brings with her a wealth of diverse experience in legal and leadership roles.
“We believe that these new appointments will help give impetus to our efforts to retain much-needed investment and jobs in Nelson Mandela Bay,” said Chamber President Loyiso Dotwana.
