 The mohair market held firm at the 6th sale of the 2012 winter season on Tuesday.

Mohair South Africa says the average market indicator gained 2% percent from the previous sale to close on R92.87.

An overall sales clearance of 97.3% was achieved for the 99 608 kg on offer.

Mohair SA says stronger competition amongst buyers and some movement in stock resulted in the slight increase in the mohair market.

A highest price of R211p/kg was paid for a bale of super style 26 micron kid mohair.
