The Border-Kei Business Chamber says Nersa's approval of an 18.65% increase in electricity tariffs is ridiculous.
The Chamber's Executive Director, Lizelle Maurice says there should have been no increase at all this year, especially because of the impact that load shedding already has on businesses, such as the down-time during power cuts and the increased cost of running generators and installing solar systems.
She says the tariff increase for Eskom will result in additional job losses.
