Listed gold miner Gold Fields has announced that it will unbundle a subsidiary to create a new South African gold mining company called Sibanye Gold.
The company announced on Thursday that subject to approval by the JSE and the New York Stock Exchange, Sibanye Gold will be listed as a separate and independent company on both exchanges in February 2013.
After the unbundling, Gold Fields would retain its other assets, including South Deep Gold Mine in South Africa.
