Fifth Mohair sale ends on a low

 The fifth sale of the 2012 winter mohair season on Tuesday ended on a low.

Mohair South Africa says its market indicator shed 1.8% to close at R91.01p/kg.

However, this was still 4% up year on year.

Mohair SA says an unstable currency and credit guarantee concerns in Europe resulted in a lack of competition amongst buying houses.

A highest price of R210 p/kg was paid for a bale of 27 micron super style kids hair.
