The SA Chamber of Commerce and Industry says business confidence remained gloomy in November, taking its cue from an unfavourable domestic and world economic climate.
Sacci says its Business Confidence Index declined marginally from 92 points in October to 91.7 in November.
The index was also 5.7 points below last November's level.
Sacci says negative contributions to business confidence on both a monthly and an annual basis were evident in manufacturing, retail and construction activity.
However, new vehicle sales, real financing costs and the stock markets made positive contributions to the business climate both on a monthly and an annual basis.
