 Bloodstocks in the country and in the province are at a critical low and the South African National Blood Service has made an urgent call to donors to make their way to the closest blood donor centre to donate blood.

Blood donation criteria:
• A person must be between the ages of 16 and 65;
• weigh more than 50kg
• lead a safe and healthy lifestyle
• and remember to eat a meal at least 4 hours prior to donating
