I heard about the Eco-Brick Exchange a few months ago and was told that if you filled an empty 2l cold drink bottle with all your wasted plastic, that they would actually use those filled containers as bricks.
I thought wow, this sounds too good to be true. But our family began doing just that. It’s been about 3 or 4 months, and we have only managed to fill 4 empty bottles with rubbish. We are quite big on recycling – so it’s a project we are excited about.
This morning Hayden was pushing the recycling in with the back of a wooden spoon. He loved it. We have things like chip packets, wet wipe packets, cereal foil packets, bread bags and many other things inside.
They needed 6000 Eco-Bricks to build the classroom in the Walmer Township, and it seems they are very close to having that number! We chat to Ian today to see how they are doing!
