It's been a busy few weeks leading up to this weekend for me. It was Aurora's second biggest fundraiser on Saturday - the annual tin collection. It's quite something to co-ordinate. This year we had over 300 volunteers shaking a tin for an hour. We were in Uitenhage, Bluewater Bay and PE.
The weather wasn't great, so I am keeping fingers crossed the big count will be positive.
The shops were great to let them stand outside their stores, the volunteers, the schools for getting involved and the staff at Aurora for helping me each step of the way.
And of course, the biggest thanks to the people who put money in the tins. Every cent counts!
IN this picture with me is Jenny, she is our oldest resident at Aurora. SHe is 60 years old, and is a real honey. She brightens my day every day when I see her.
