I love Mother's Day and Father's Day and think it's great to spoil mom's and dads... but I don't believe that we have to spend a lot of money to make that person feel special. I love these 3 little ideas that work well.
The first is something I havw always wanted to do. Plant flowers or a cactus inside an old wellington boot. Kids grow so quickly, and you can just use the boots that have been outgrown. Make some holes in the bottom of the boot, grab some soil and affordable flowers and plant away. The kids will love to get involed and get dirty with this one. Gives a nice spin to just a regular bunch of flowers.
The next idea is also so simple. Find a box that can fit into mom's hand bag. You know how us mom's always lose little things in our bags, and they end up at the bottom somewhere. We call this one "Mom's Survival Kit" ... once the box is decorated, fill it with little things mom uses all the time. Chewing gum, head ache pills, plasters, tweezers, hair pins or elastics etc etc
And then finally the "Box of Love"... same concept as above. Decorate a little box (doesn't matter what size) and then have a little note attached to it saying the following "You only have to hold the box close to your heart. It's filled with love inside"
Enjoy making these affordable gifts and Happy MOther's day for next Sunday!
