Provincial Traffic officials have arrested 11 people in Port Elizabeth at the weekend for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Provincial traffic spokesperson, Charles Bramwell says the arrests were made by the Struandale Traffic Station in a joint operation with Kwa Zakhele police on the R 75 on Saturday evening.
He says one arrest was made for overloading of a vehicle, when 40 passengers were found crammed inside a 16 seater minibus.
Bramwell says Provincial Traffic, in conjunction with the SA Police Service, Metro Police and Metro Traffic and Local Traffic authorities across the Province will continue with sting operations to eradicate the roads from irresponsible drivers.
