A 21-year-old gang affiliate was arrested at the PE magistrates’ court on Wednesday by the Provincial Gang Investigation Unit for attempted murder in a case registered in Humewood.
He'll appear in court on Thursday on that charge and a charge of murder involving a separate matter.
Colonel Priscilla Naidu reports that the suspect was sitting outside the courtroom with his friends where he was waiting to appear for a murder case which took place in September last year.
He's charged with fatally shooting 20-year-old Keeno Charles in a yard in Helenvale.
The Provincial Gang Unit arrested him at the court building on Wednesday on a charge of attempted murder in connection with an incident at the Boardwalk Complex.
It's alleged that on the 20th of August last year, a 30-year-old gang member and three friends were leaving the Boardwalk at around 9 pm when two suspects started firing at them.
No one was injured and the suspects fled on foot. A bullet was found embedded in the complainant's BMW.
