Port Elizabeth police have arrested a murder suspect in the city's northern areas on Thursday.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu says members from the Bethelsdorp Crime Prevention unit arrested the 24-year old man at his mother's house in Arcadia.
Naidu says it's alleged the victim, 26-year old Mirlene Wilson, was on her way home from her mother's house on Sunday when she was shot dead in Jenniker Street in Arcadia.
Police say she was shot in the face.
Naidu says it's alleged an altercation between the suspect and another man broke out in the street and the suspect fired at the man when a bullet struck Wilson.
The man will appear in the Port Elizabeth magistrates' court on Friday.
