Port Elizabeth police are investigating a case of murder and a case of attempted murder following separate shootings in the city's Northern Areas on Monday night.
Colonel Priscilla Naidu says 30-year-old Remano van Wyk was killed in a shooting in Arcadia at around 20h30. He was standing in Yellowwood Street with two other people when shots were fired at them.
Van Wyk, who had no known gang affiliation ran towards the back of his shack where he collapsed and died.
Bethelsdorp police are investigating a case of murder.
Earlier in the evening, just after 6 pm, a 30-year-old man was inside an open garage at a house in Deverill Street in Helenvale when he saw a suspect in the street.
Colonel Naidu says shots were fired at the complainant who sustained a gunshot wound to the upper leg.
The Provincial Gang Investigation Unit is investigating a case of attempted murder.
