A woman whose body was found on the side of the road on the N9 just outside Graaff Reinet last week is yet to be identified.
It has been nearly a week since several anonymous calls were made to alert police about a lifeless body of a blonde woman lying in the road in the direction towards Middelburg.
Police Spokesperson Captain Bradley Rawlinson says an autopsy will be done this week to determine the exact cause of her death.
A source told Algoa FM News that the victim's fingerprints had also been taken in an effort to identify her.
The victim, who was wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt, had an open wound to the side of the head and police are investigating a murder.
Rawlinson told Algoa FM news that the anonymous calls to alert them about the body were received from "all over the country".
