The owner of a takeaway shop in Port Elizabeth who was shot by a 'customer' buying a pie at his store, had died.
The 36-year-old Foreign National Anamul Mohammed was shot twice in the chest at his business premises in Commercial Road on Tuesday morning.
Spokesperson for police Colonel Priscilla Naidu says a suspect walked into the shop at around 9.30 and ordered a pie.
The unknown man did not take the pie but instead shot Mohammed who was standing at the entrance of the shop.
The victim was rushed to hospital where he died a few hours later.
A case of murder is now under investigation.
Naidu says the motive for the shooting is still unknown.
