Regarded as one of the 80s best movies, Top Gun fans will be happy to hear that plans for the sequel are forging ahead with the announcement by Paramount Pictures yesterday that Miles Teller will take on the role of Goose's son. The sequel has been titled,Top Gun: Maverick. Goose was played by Anthony Edwards in the 1986 original, Val Kilmer will return as Iceman.
The 31-year-old actor celebrated on Twitter with the first half of a famous quote from "Top Gun": "I feel the need..."…..yes, you can fill in the rest! Top Gun 2 is scheduled to be released by Paramount in July of next year. Direction is by Joe Kosinski who worked on Oblivion with Cruise.
