Marie Fredriksson, famously known as part of the pop rock duo, Roxette, has died at the age of 61.
The singer passed away on Monday morning after a battle with a long-term illness.
According to the Swedish newspaper the 'Express', Marie Fredriksson is most mourned by her husband Mikael Bolyos and their two children."
"It is with great sadness that we have to announce that one of our biggest and most beloved artist is gone. Marie Fredriksson died on the morning of December 9 in the suites of her previous illness," quoted from a family statement.
According to the family Fredriksson will be laid to rest in silence with only the closest family present.
Per Gessle who formed part of the pop rock duo release a statement saying, " All my love for you and your family. Things will never be the same.
