Rebel elephant goes on the run in Cork, Ireland (Video)
Here’s something you don’t see everyday. An elephant went for a run around the streets of Blackpool in Cork yesterday.
Cork is a bit like Ireland's Texas; everything has to be bigger and better. So while dear old Dublin usually gets llamas on the loose when the circus comes to town it looks like Cork gets the biggest animal you can get on land, an elephant on the rampage.
This video, posted on the Irish Examiner’s YouTube page, doesn’t tell us a whole lot about what happened to the citizens of Blackpool, or the poor elephant, but the presence of a big top in the background would suggest that this is a circus animal who fancied a stroll around the city.
As you can see two guys come to try and control the animal but after initial success, they animal decides he or she has had enough of these puny humans annoying it and sets off down the road.
We don’t know what happened to the escaped animal or to the people and property of Blackpool after he or she escapes from view of the camera so if you saw anything please let us know.
