Bono's rarely seen daughter sizzles in modelling debut as she hits Hollywood

She grew up away from the glare of the public eye - as her father stormed stages across the globe.

But this is a rare glimpse of Eve Hewson, the 21-year-old daughter of U2 frontman Bono and his wife Ali, as she prepares to make her mark on Hollywood.

The stunning brunette was given a sheltered childhood in Ireland alongside her older sister and two brothers - and admits that her parents tried to persuade her against acting.

However, she looks every inch the Hollywood starlet as she poses for the pages of prestigious Vanity Fair magazine.

Eve is set to graduate from New York University next month, where she has been studying acting for the past two years.

But she has already landed her first major movie role in the Sean Penn film, This Must Be The Place, which will be released in January.

Despite growing up as music royalty - with U2's net worth estimated at a staggering $838m, according to the Sunday Times UK Rich List this year - Eve said: 'My parents work really hard to make sure that we don’t feel entitled. They just don’t spoil us. They want us to work for things.'

When she announced as a teenager that she wanted to become an actress, she confessed that her parents feared that the industry would eat her up and spit her out.
