WESSA is a membership-based organisation and, throughout South Africa, our members initiate environmental projects and organise educational events and activities in their local communities. By joining WESSA, you will be helping to provide valuable support for these volunteer initiatives and will be part of a growing environmental network operating at a grassroots community level via our branches, partners, business members, affiliates and friends groups.

WESSA Algoa Bay is based in Gqeberha and we’d love you to join us on our next Beach Clean Up at Bluewater Bay Beach on the 15 Feb at 09h30-10h30.

From encouraging a rural school to start planting indigenous trees to testing water quality along our coastline … from helping to rehabilitate and re-wild the threatened pangolin to raising our voice against policies that threaten fragile ecosystems and species, WESSA has been a champion for the environment for almost 100 years.
