Vistarus Mission Station

Who we are:

Our vision is to restore the broken in mind, body and soul through giving hope and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to provide a safe haven for impoverished, homeless and addicted people in order to reintegrate them into society.

Most of the residents suffer from an addiction and although we are not a registered rehab centre, we take people in and help them get back onto their feet providing a Life Recovery Program based on the Word of God.

We assist people that are totally destitute, former drug addicts, abused women and children and people affected by HIV/Aids as well as those that just have nowhere else to go, have been successfully assisted by the centre to return to the mainstream.

We also supply the children in our care with all their school needs. The beneficiaries who’ve gone through the program successfully are also subsidized with their rent if they do find work outside of Vistarus. We are not funded by the government.

 Our Projects include :

Plastic extrusion plant:

This is an income-generating project operating from 145 Commercial Road. We work mostly with LD and Polypropylene plastics. This project allows us to resell our recycled plastic back into the market place.

 Woodwork:

We manufacture pallet wood furniture as well as dog kennels, which can be made to your required specifications.

 Creche:

We have a daycare centre that is run by the mothers in our program. Currently, there are 15 toddlers and 8 babies.

 Aftercare:

We currently have 42 kids attending a homework classroom in the afternoons where they’re assisted with school work.

 Kitchen:

We cook 750 meals daily in our kitchen.

 Charity Shop:

We sell second-hand items. You may visit the shop at 145 Commercial Road, Sidwell, on the same premises as our Plastic Plant.

 WIRES Department:

Vehicle and other parts are disassembled, stripped and the plastic and metal components are sent into an income-generating stream of recycling.
