Uviwe (previously known as PE Child Line) is a registered Non-Profit Child Protection Organisation situated in Port Elizabeth. Their primary focus is the ??protection of children?s rights?? and to unlock young people?s full potential to become economically active citizens. They embrace an integrated model that focusses holistically on child protection, victim empowerment, early childhood development and youth development programmes. They protect children through their support programmes and services to child victims of crime such as rape and abuse. The organisation specialises in child abuse crisis management , neglect and abandonment. Uviwe currently oversees 6 Early Childhood Development centres in the Northern Areas of Port Elizabeth. Rendering childhood development programmes to children from 18 months-5 years old. They have a longstanding track record with regards to assisting Ubuntu (neighbourhood) cr?ches with capacity building, training on child care and protection.
Uviwe has been involved in the training of 306 unregistered, backyard (Ubuntu) cr?ches. Their training focuses on child protection, domestic violence and family issues. Their mission remains ?building communities fit to raise every one of its children?. Their family reunification, foster care services and positive parenting programmes for families and parents of children ensure that the child is protected in their home environment.

Uviwe relies heavily on funding to support daily running costs of the organization
We require sponsorships to make our projects and programmes huge successes
Volunteers with skills are required to fix up our ECD centers (6). Also volunteers to tutor in our Girl-child project(math?s, science and literature)
Our ECD centers are in need of supplies and toys and educational material for our children
We need to do more in the community but do not always have the means and financial resources to do so
