Unity in Africa Foundation

Kaycee catches up with Lynn Gadd-Claxton and budding engineer Siyaxolisa Kwikwi :

The Unity in Africa Foundation's iGEMS Programme (Incubating Great Engineering Minds) is a transformative initiative designed to empower young South Africans with the tools to succeed in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers. iGEMS bridges the gap between education and employment by offering a comprehensive programme that includes academic support, mentorship, workplace readiness training, and exposure to industry practices through internships. By nurturing talent and fostering innovation, iGEMS aims to uplift underrepresented youth, address skills shortages, and contribute to a brighter, more inclusive future for South Africa.

iGEMS is our flagship programme that aims to increase the number of technical and engineering graduates from disadvantaged communities and secure their permanent employment, which is crucial for regional and South African economic growth.
