Algoa Cares November 9th :  East London Child and Youth Care Centre.

• The East London Child and Youth Care Centre, (ELCYCC), was founded in 1924 and has been caring for the needs of vulnerable children and youth from birth to 18 years old since. 
• The Centre provides a residential programme for approximately 105 children who come from disadvantaged communities and/or dysfunctional families, which are unable to give them the care they need.  
• The centre creates a sense of family and belonging which caters for the holistic wellbeing of the children. 
• The ELCYCC works towards empowering the children with the skills to be reunited and reintegrated with their families and communities.

Computer Training Centre:

The centre aims to  equip their children with the skills to ensure that they are fully functioning independent individuals upon exiting our care. In today’s society computer literacy is an essential skill in all spheres of employment and often determines one’s success during the interviewing process. This Programme will also assist with career readiness as well as enable them to compile professional and marketable curriculum vitae.  

Skill Development Centre: will provide cooking lessons, general maintenance training, wood work, hair dressing and sewing.
