Thand'usana Babies Safe Home Welfare

We care for abandoned, abused and neglected babies and toddlers between the ages of birth to 3 years. We can accommodate 6 babies/toddlers at a time until a more permanent placement can be found for the child. When a permanent home is found for a child and they leave, another will take their place and so on. The children are brought to us via Social Workers.

We have recently installed a baby dropbox on our property, for mothers to safely leave their babies when they are unable to care for them.

One of our greatest success stories is that of our very first baby when Thand’usana opened in 2008. This abandoned baby now lives in Germany, with a German father and an Italian mother.

We are always looking for donations of the following items.

Pampers or Huggies nappies, Formula (Nan Pelargon- orange tin, no’s 1 & 2), Nido 1+, baby toiletries (wet wipes, soap, Vaseline, shampoo, etc.), long life full cream milk, Weetbix, mielie meal, oats, baby porridges, Purity jars – veg & fruit (blue lids), any grocery or cleaning item will be welcome.
