SUFF Academy

We are one of the leading Youth Development organisations within South Africa with an international footprint developing the next generation of innovators & leaders.

SUFF Academy focuses on three pillars, namely skills development, technology training, and arts programmes.

Our Youth Development programmes provide a wide range of services, opportunities, and support to young people as well as their families. Our programme builds on the strengths of young people through skills development, technology development, and arts development training programmes, mentoring and transitioning youth through different pathways.

We are Drivers in :

Bridging the gap between local business hiring needs and unemployed youth/ young entrepreneurs.

Incubating culture, leadership, entrepreneurship, and technology to be a resource and economic stimulator in the Garden Route / Karoo District.

Generating storied community connections with the aim of providing individualized blueprints to chart the path of youth & entrepreneurial development.

Our programmes include: Skills Incubator

The Skills Development Programmes seeks to empower the South African unemployed youth with skills, ensure our youth access more opportunities for skill acquisition; create space for the new entrants into the labour market to gain work experience, introduce transformative tools through training and education to address the high levels of unemployment amongst the youth.

Technology Training :

World Economic Forum states, ”We stand on the brink of a technological revolution that will fundamentally alter the way we live, work, and relate to one another. In its scale, scope, and complexity, the transformation will be unlike anything humankind has experienced before.” It is our aim to ensure e-Inclusion through technology programs like Digital Literacy, Google and IBM platforms to bridge the digital divide amongst the South African youth.

Arts Development

We aim to nurture and recognize talented youth, educate and address youth unemployment through Filmmaking, Performing Arts, Photography and Music.

Media for Mentors

Media for Mentors is a platform to engage and empower youth to become community visual minders, using films as an advocacy tool for community engagement and development, through the creation of Community Youth Film Production Hub at Grassroot level.

Then there is our Youth Cafés

In 2013 the Western Cape Government adopted the Western Cape Youth Development Strategy. The purpose of the Youth Development Strategy is to create more Support, Opportunities, and Services for all young people to better engage with their environment and successfully transition into responsible, independent, and stable adults.  The Youth Café model is one of the innovative approaches to youth development that aims to meet the objectives of the Provincial Youth Development Strategy in a creative environment.

Youth Cafés seek to provide youth with a platform where they can access skills and personal development training, economic and social development opportunities, and creative spaces where they are able to express themselves at a local and global scale.

It is a new and exciting programme that provides support, services, and opportunities for the youth that are not in employment, education or training, and are aged 14 – 25 and 26 – 35.

Youth Cafés include fully operational coffee shops where youth can relax, chat with each other, and drink coffee, as well as attend training programmes that can further their education.
