Buffalo City football has a long and proud tradition of excellence. From the day when the first recorded football match was played almost 120 years ago to the momentous formation of a united football governing body in 1991, football in this region has produced many remarkable athletes, created memories deeply etched in the region’s consciousness and enthralled spectators in all corners of this neck of the woods and nationally.
We have built upon this legacy through the addition of provincial trophies to our cabinets, winning the 1979, 1980, 1981 & 1995 Federation/SAFA Provincial trophies and making our provincial teams one of the top in the province and celebrated Saints FC as the Federation’s Number 1 club in 1982 when triumphing in the inter-club national competition.

Our main project is the Easter Football Tournament 2025 :
This tournament had humble beginnings at the North End stadium going back over 120 years. Its main aim was to establish a platform to be used to reinforce the struggle for non-racialism in sport and in society. Members were responsible for raising funds to affiliate and the visiting teams were accommodated in classrooms This football event has over the years become inculcated into the lives of our diverse football communities, young and old, who would spend their entire Easter weekend at the VARIOUS stadiums where they would reminisce, enjoy the art of football and quality time with family and friends, develop and strengthen relationships with new friends and families and where the football supporters would identify and adopt their own football heroes and clubs that were outstanding over the entire four days. These athletes would become football folklore and household names that would remain embedded in football history.
The aim of this year's Easter Tournament is to revive a football culture that is entrenched in the legacy of our diverse football communities for over 60 years. It is a FOOTBALL tradition that families and friends come in their numbers over this weekend to the VARIOUS STADIUMS to watch their favourite football teams and players in action. That is what it is all about. We are looking forward to an exciting weekend of football and interaction between players, clubs, families and friends.
