Pet Pals East London

Our NPO was founded in 2011 by animal lover Sue Kriel – fast forward to 2023 and our no-kill shelter is currently home to 200 dogs and 100 cats.

We continue to save countless animal lives by rescuing, rehabilitating, and homing the abandoned, abused, or unwanted animals that cross our paths every day. From dogs that are covered in mange, severely dehydrated, burnt, beaten, wounded, or unable to walk, to those on the brink of death, our mission is to turn them into healthy, happy, and playful pooches.

Pictured below: Some of the gorgeous rescues in our care and looking for their 'furever' homes.

At EL Pet Pals we provide a re-homing facility for the animals and while in our care, these animals are well looked after, receiving nutritional food, de-worming/tick/flea treatment, and adequate vet care. All of our adopted animals are sterilized. All of this costs money - lots of it!

Volunteers are a huge part of EL Pet Pals and where some work directly with the animals, feeding, bathing, and exercising them, while others assist prospective pet owners, introducing them to the animals and giving advice. These essential duties and the volunteers that provide them, add to the already formidable team at EL Pet Pals.

EL Pet Pals is a non-profit organization and does not receive any government funding so we rely heavily on public donations. We hold numerous events throughout the year in order to raise awareness and funds and receive enormous support from the community.

Below is our next event and we so hope East Londoners will support this in their droves!

Our main project right now is to reach out to the communities around East London, offering a more affordable sterilization option for their cats and dogs.

Our other vital need is for an office as we turned our office into a veterinary consulting and operating area  - if anyone can assist us in making this happen we would be most grateful.

And then of course to somehow have the funds to be able to keep our sanctuary gates open. You can well imagine the cost involved with 300 animals.
