PE Mental Health

We advocate for the realization and protection of the rights of children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

We have several projects on the go at the moment - these include :

Khatala project: The aim is to mobilize wellness warriors, caregivers/parents of Children with Intellectual Disabilities, empower and create group platforms to support each other, and identify educational needs for children which requires the attention and responses of the department of basic education to ensure that every child has access to quality basic education.

Masakhane project: empowers youth with intellectual disabilities through skills building and work readiness program, also assisting them with work placement in various industries.

Of course, none of these projects would happen without the work of our incredible caregivers pictured below :

A list of our needs :

  1. Branded material i.e. Jackets, Caps, Backpacks
  2. Stationery
  3. Data to ensure the continuation of social media engagements and access to caregivers groups/platforms for educational and information sharing purposes.
  4. Beads
  5. Sewing machine

If there are folk who can donate caps, backpacks, stationery, or winter jackets we would so appreciate it. We work with a team of over 40 volunteers called Wellness Warriors from Motherwell, Zwide, new Brighton, and Joe Slovo.
