NGOMSO YOUTH FOUNDATION

We specialise in caring for and mentoring abused , neglected and disadvantaged children from 3 moths to 18 years old. Promiscuity, alcohol abuse and Aids are rife in this community , leading to children going to school hungry , and are often left out in the streets at night as their parents are not around .They then end up sleeping at the centre on whatever we can provide. The founder Lulu Ngqungwana fell ill in 2014 and is semi-wheelchair ridden . yet she takes whatever she has and attempts to assist these needy children. we currently support about 80 needy children with donations received from the public and corporates.

Top 3 Projects:

Project 1:

Soup Kitchen .

we launched the soup kitchen on Mandela Day with assistance from Shoprite . However the challenge is to sustain this project and to feed these hungry children 2 hot meals / day. we have started a garden to assist us in this but obviously this is only a part solution. Food is always in need.

Project 2:

Creche

In adverse weather conditions we have to house these small children in the RDP type house . We need to have a separate area for these small children to be able to play and sleep . When it`s hot , we allow them to play outside but the small babies are kept in the house . We do not charge the parents any fees to look after their children.

Project 3:

School After Care

To eradicate the scourge of unwanted pregnancies , drug and alcohol abuse , we want to appoint a Guidance Councillor to mentor these children thus giving them an opportunity to achieve an education and instill good moral values as Mandela envisioned.
