Nankumntwana is an organisation that avails an opportunity to virtually adopt a learning child from our disadvantaged schools and attempt to change their self-proclaimed low self-belief, inculcate an attitude of strong achievement and success, teach principles of gratitude and giving and become a sponsor for his/her education by providing for school fees for the annum, uniform, tutoring services and/or stationery/books or tutoring, extra mural activities, motivational talk, camps that will assist the child at being motivated to go to school and experience school life to its fullness. It is also an organisation that encourages educators to remain dedicated and resilient in the field of education.
The program started operating in June 2011 and was formally registered as an NPO/NGO in October 2012. The organisation started with a small number of 34 learners from Charles Duna Primary School, it grew the following year to a total of 67 vulnerable learning children inclusive of those from BJ Mnyanda Primary School.
Today, Nankumntwana touches the lives of 50 learners per school;
50 learners from Charles Duna Primary School,
50 learners from BJ Mnyanda
50 learners from Seyisi Primary School
50 learners from Elundini in Motherwell.
With each learner family having a minimum of 5 family members, Nankumntwana is able to, directly and indirectly, impact 1000 lives from each campaign successfully implemented.
The program implements on average 4 campaigns per financial year. Summarily, Nankumntwana is able to impact 4000 lives per financial year.
