This week Algoa Cares features the NPO Missing Children South Africa. This public benefit organisation offers essential assistance to the South African Police Force when a child goes missing. Due to the fact that ignorance is often a mitigating factor in many disappearances, MCSA also strives to educate children, schools, caregivers and of course the general public.

Sadly, current statistics indicate a critical situation in South Africa with regards to the safety of our children. A child goes missing every five hours in South Africa according to the figures released by the SA Police Service Missing Persons Bureau for 2013. Of these 77 % are found, 23% are not.
