Ibis Reproductive Health

Ibis is a nonprofit research organization that envisions a world where quality sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services are simpler, easier to access, and more affordable; where policies are grounded in evidence; and where all people have autonomy and full control over their health and wellbeing.

Ibis South Africa office was opened in April 2003. Principled partnerships are critical to our work; we aim to ensure that our partnerships with other organizations recognize the contributions and expertise that each organization and person brings to the work. In South Africa, we lead work that empowers young people to make informed decisions about their reproductive health and total well-being. We pride ourselves in providing financial support - when available - to young people to lead work in their communities.

Our current projects include :

AMAZE is an initiative implemented by Advocates for Youth (AYF), which collaborates with global organizations and harnesses the power of digital media – animated videos - to provide free and age-appropriate sex education that is medically accurate, affirming, and candid to adolescents and youth, with content available in over 40 languages. Ibis leads the AMAZE initiative in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Mmoho is an adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health campaign that uses a rights-based approach to advocate for comprehensive and accessible sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) services for young people. Key to our Mmoho work is youth support grants; we allocate these to youth-led organizations to provide support for them to undertake projects in their communities.

Our needs are as follows :

Donations for our youth support grants

The opportunity to talk to the media so as to spread the word.
