The Ernest Malgas Treatment Centre is a substance abuse treatment facility for children aged between 13-18 years. The Centre offers a 9-week residential programme based on a multi-disciplinary approach using primarily Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Applications to the programme can be made through a Social Worker.
We also offer training and talks on substance abuse, support groups for parents and are involved in outreaches on invitation. The Ernest Malgas Centre comes as a much-needed resource in the fight against substance abuse and its negative effects upon society.
There is no cost for treatment at the centre as this is a state-funded centre and the only one of its kind in the Eastern Cape.
What do we need assistance with? Sponsorship to activities or programmes aimed at exposing our children to new and healthy experiences. (adventure sports, etc. )
